Getting Started
If you are interested in learning more about professional careers in law, and are asking questions such as, “What do I need to do?” & “What do I need to know?”, and are asking yourself, “Do I have what it takes?”, then this page is the place for you! Whether you are a UB student, high school student, or parent of a student, you will find the basics of what you need to know on this Web site.
Please at glance through the Pre Law Web site contents before making an appointment with the Pre Law Advisor to provide you a sense of context and perhaps encourage you to come in with specific questions. One of the tabs at the top over every page is our “Student Guide”. Simply click on any topic and move your way through it, stopping along the way to “learn more” about any topic. You can therefore skim or read a section thoroughly, depending on your needs. Below are a few quick links for students applying to law school and non-UB students, such as high school students. If you are a UB Pre Law student (or are a college student interested in learning more about Pre Law), I encourage you to start exploring the categories in the Student Guide tab in detail. Either way, I encourage you to come in for an appointment to discuss with you your particular interests in the legal profession.
