Law School Forums

Now might be a good time to start to think about attending a Law School Forum!  Law School Forums, organized by the Law School Admission Council, are Pre-Law events that include workshops and representation from law schools and lots of information about the application process and law as a profession. They are nation-wide events, and there are only a few of them annually.  In the Northeast, there is one in both New York City (September 26th) and Boston, (September 29th). The LSAC Forum page has additional information.

Also, UB will have our very own Law School forum on October 2nd called “The Greater Western New York Law School Fair”. This will be an excellent way to meet law school representatives and find out more about the kinds of programs they have to offer, as well as other vital Law School information.  Every Pre-Law student is highly encouraged to attend!  To find out more, head over the workshops section.

Law School Admission Council Forums

Now is a very good time to begin considering attending an LSAC forum either over the summer or the fall.

Forums are a very good way to meet with law school representatives and help you decide what law schools are a good fit for you.  You’ll learn about how the admissions process works, and law school reps will be able to clarify subtle points on their application that you might have questions about.  The law school forums also offer helpful workshops to help you in such important topics as LSAT preparation and other components of the application, financial aid, underrepresented student opportunities, and more.

To find out more about these including the dates and locations of upcoming forums, visit this link.

LSAC National Law School Forums

Law School forums are an excellent way to meet law school admission represenatives and learn more about their schools. I would recommend planning a visit to one of the national LSAC forums if possible. As far as those near us, Boston, MA has a forum this upcoming October 19th, and another in New York City this October 21st. And don’t forget: we will have a Law School Local Fair this upcoming September 25th.

Forums can also provide you with information that will help you answer more personal questions: Do you have the ability and educational background that will help you handle the law school curriculum? What will a legal education train you to do? Will law be a satisfying career for you?
