Below-Freezing Temperatures and Helping the Homeless

Urgent Request

The Coalition for the Homeless is putting together an emergency street outreach team to go out tonight around 9 pm to assist anyone staying on the streets in this bitter cold.  They are in need of a number of things. First and foremost is space.  The City Mission says that it is operating at 160% capacity right now partially due to the cold temps and really can’t take too many more people.

The second piece of that is that they are in need of someone or a small group of people to help monitor that space. They are also in need of coats, blankets, gloves, mittens, boots, etc.  Any donations of this type can be brought to the City Mission before 9:00 pm tonight. Just tell them that they are for the street outreach teams tonight. For more information please call Joyelle Tedeschi at 491-3533 or Joe Heary at 228-1706.
