1L of a Ride: A Well-Traveled Professor’s Roadmap to Success in the First Year of Law School is a book written to help students prepare for their first year in law school by a professor with lots of good advice to give. For those of you planning to attend law school this fall this might be a very helpful and entertaining book. The book hones in what what makes students academically successful their first year, and what it takes and how they should prepare. Every year the Law School Admissions Council organizes Law School Recruitment Forums for students to meet law school admissions officers from law schools from all over the country, as well as provide some interesting application workshops. There are a few that would be on the ‘radar screen’ of UB students typically - Washington DC, Boston, New York City are some of the cities these forums are being held over the course of the next half year. Have a look and consider attending one of them! Keep in mind however that we have our very own Western New York Law School Open House sessions every Fall with lots of law schools attending if you can’t make the long trip to a big city.
