Dean Certifications

Remember, if the law school you are applying to requires a dean certification, you can mail / fax / drop-off their form to me for processing. You can check this unofficial list to see whether your school requires a dean cert. This isn’t an official up-to-date list, but schools are very up-front our their requirements, so you should have no questions about applicatoin requirements. Be sure to fill out and sign the form before sending it off to me, as without your permission, I cannot distribute your academic information to the law school.

Please email me (bonebrak@buffalo.edu) if you are faxing or mailing your dean cert, just so I am aware of its imminent arrival.

My mailing address is:

Pre-Law Society Meetings

Regular Pre-Law meetings will now be held every other Thursday at 5:30 in 213 Norton Hall, starting TODAY. If you’re interested in becoming involved and meeting fellow Pre-Law students, networking with law students and staff, volunteering within the community and meeting attorneys, this is a great chance to do so! It’s open to all and you can simply stop in to see what they’re all about.

Again, they meet every other Thursday. I’ll have reminders up on the blog and information on their meeting agendas when possible a few days in advance.

They are also looking for officers for the club - you can find out more by attending their meetings.

Law School Forums

Law School Recruitment Forums are a great way to speak directly with representatives from law schools you’re interested in. They can answer your questions on admission chances and opportunities as a student. Forums also provide several workshops and presentations on the admissions process. Here are some questions that attending a law forum can answer (taken from the websit :)

- What law schools are best for you?
- How does the admission process work?
- What is the best way to prepare for the LSAT?
- How can you finance your legal education?
- What law school opportunities are available for members of minority groups?
- Do you have the ability and educational background that will help you handle the law school curriculum?
- What will a legal education train you to do? Will law be a satisfying career for you?

There are several national forum dates but the few that are nearest us are the Boston one on Thursday, October 19th and the one in New York City Saturday, October 21st. Go to their website for registration and additional information.
